These pages will offer you some science-based introduction to some key concepts in marine ecosystems, the interaction between the physical and marine environment, and the interaction of the communities of species who prey and depend upon each other for their livelihood.

The “Changing Ocean” lesson plans help to show the dynamic interplay of ocean processes in relation to time – over days, seasons, years and even centuries.

The “Overviews” will provide essay style introductions to important concepts such as invasive species, the food web, the water column and fish communities found in the Gulf of Maine.

GoMA’s final outreach campaign entitled “Biodiversity Matters in the Gulf of Maine” developed an educational brochure and two posters about regional knowledge of marine biodiversity and its application to ecosystem-based management.
